Visa-on-arrival queues at Queen Alia Airport can be long during peak season. Allow 60–90 minutes for immigration on busy days. Having the Jordan Pass speeds this up.
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended stay. Check this before travel — Jordan will refuse entry if your passport is expiring soon.
Visa-on-arrival fees (JD 40) can be paid in JOD, USD, EUR or GBP at the airport. ATMs are available before immigration. The Jordan Pass waives this fee entirely.
Jordan's border officers are generally not concerned about Israeli stamps in your passport. However, if you hold an Israeli visa sticker, this can occasionally cause questions. Carry a separate paper for the Israeli stamp if concerned.
Most nationalities need a visa, but many can obtain a Visa on Arrival at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman. Citizens of certain Arab countries may enter visa-free. Check the table below for your specific nationality.
Our Jordan visa specialists are happy to advise — including Jordan Pass guidance, letter of invitation, and entry requirements for your nationality.
